Organize your Cords using Toilet Paper Rolls

Keep your wires organized by wrapping each cord up with a rubber band or a twist-tie and placing them inside a toilet paper roll. You can even secure the ends of the toilet paper roll with tape if needed. This way, your cords will not get tangled, and you can even label the toilet paper rolls so you know which one is which!

Find your Tax Deductible Moving Expenses

Keep track of all your moving expenses, many of them may be tax-deductible. The IRS has a webpage that explains if you can deduct certain moving expenses, so make sure to check their website to find out if you qualify for deductions!  http://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc455.html

Take Multiple Pictures and Inspect for Damages

Make sure to take multiple pictures of how you left your current house when you are done packing, and how your new house looks before you start unpacking your belongings. That way, if there is anything that you want to mention to your landlord (if you are renting) or if there is any question of whether you caused damages in your new or old house, you have pictures to prove your side. This is also a great time to inspect for damages. To take it a step further, you can even print the pictures out and have the opposing party or landlord sign the pictures and put a relevant date on the pictures recognizing that they are from the date and time provided.
